So ... yeah ... now I finally got a Tumblr. Mainly 'cause it's easier to follow and reblog interfriends. And I'll probably have some posts of my own here and there. users online |
27) Meet Joe Black (dir. Martin Brest, 1998) - 4 out of 5

30) Cabin In The Woods (dir. Drew Goddard, 2010/2011/2012 … Hell, this was shelved for a while because of MGM budgetary issues …) - 4.5 out of 5
It’s been a little while … irregular posting aside. Been keeping up with work and reading and whatnot to the best of my ability. And there’s also the looking for potential applications to send in … which I should get to …
Anyways, a station alum dropped off a huge load of comics at the station within the last two or so weeks, so I brought a whole bunch back, which have helped to up my Novel Count (21) for the year (and I’m only counting complete runs, mind you, like Iron Man: Extremis). Additionally, I knocked off American Psycho this morning. We’ll be watching the movie in class after break. I haven’t seen it in a few years, so I re-watched a few scenes online last night and … I’m looking forward to re-watching the film, both in relation to the novel and because Christian Bale is vicious in it.
Other things … let’s see … The Hunger Games! I caught a midnight screening last week with a whole bunch of friends (Ryan, Kristen, and a few others), but we were all in separate theaters. The local AMC, which had 9 screens, filled up all of them. But then again, instead of regular movie theater seats, they have uber-nice reclining leather/faux-leather seats with movable arm rests, so there’s less seating in each theater … you’ve got to take the pros with the cons. And then I saw a screening earlier in the week with Marissa. Thoroughly enjoyed the film both times, despite the changes, but then again, Suzanne Collins was one of the co-writers of the film … And I thoroughly commend the sound mixers and editors.
Um … and I’m seeing Neil DeGrasse Tyson speak on campus in about 3 and a half weeks. ^_^
And now it’s time for spring break! Relaxation, some work, and PAX East!
In ‘87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Hip to be Square”, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.
“Do you like Huey Lewis and The News?” - American Psycho (2000)
One of my favorite bits. In the whole movie.
